Public school advocates yawn as Wayne County Schools announce $5 million budget deficit

Say it with me: “If the Wayne County Schools was a charter school…”

But there will be an outpouring of sympathy for the district, in addition to state assistance to help them overcome their $5 million budget deficit. How did this happen?
