Many are arguing that if Governor Cooper allows NC’s economy to reopen many additional people will die–and they are right. As people get back to using parks and beaches for swimming, boating and waterskiing certainly there will be more fatal drownings. As traffic on the state’s highways increase there will be more accidents and traffic fatalities. As socializing and dating increases we should expect to see increases in STDs and related deaths. With more large gatherings of people at schools, malls, concerts, and theaters we will probably see more mass shootings than we have this Spring.
This is only a smattering of the deadly activities that will increase if the governor reopens our economy.
Allowing people to live their lives as they have in the past is simply too risky.
