Six Winston-Salem council members in self-isolation after possible coronavirus exposure

Winston-Salem Journal reports six of the eight Winston-Salem City Council members are self-isolating after possible exposure to the coronavirus at a conference in Washington D.C. conference.

Mayor Allen Joines is not self-isolating, as he did not attend the National League of Cities conference last week, nor did council members Vivian Burke and James Taylor.

City manager Lee Garrity noted the council members were practicing “self-isolation” as opposed to “self-quarantine,” which means the council members can go out on a limited basis.
