NCAE tests the waters for a teacher strike

According to the Citizen Times, the NCAE Organize 2020 Racial and Social Justice Caucus, the extreme left-wing of N.C. Association of Educators (NCAE), “is circulating surveys online that ask teachers how many days of work they’d be willing to miss in order to obtain more funding from Raleigh for pay raises, Medicaid expansion and retiree benefits.”

The survey is little more than a PR stunt, given that the NCAE does not have the resources to orchestrate a statewide strike.  For example, the NCAE does not appear to have a strike fund, which is a reserve account that provides funding to striking workers and covers associated costs.
