A new report examines how easy it is to do business in cities around North America. The  start a business, register a property, get electricity, find and keep employees, pay taxes, and get through insolvency. Charlotte ranks sixth on the index, behind Oklahoma City, Arlington (VA), Sioux Falls, Boise, and Atlanta. The Queen City is the only North Carolina representative in the report, which looks at the main business city in every state and province across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, plus other large cities. Charlotte’s worst rank (45th) is on starting a business, which has five steps and takes eight days. The city is far and away the best in North America at resolving insolvency and is in the top ten on employing workers and paying taxes.
