Cato Institute Promotes JLF’s “HeadLocke” Podcast on Overlawyered Website

This week, the Cato Institute promoted the John Locke Foundation’s “HeadLocke No. 67” on its “Overlawyered” website, which focusses on the high costs of America’s legal system. This episode of the podcast focuses on the public policy response to vaping, as chronicled in Jacob Grier’s latest book, “The Rediscovery of Tobacco: Smoking, Vaping, and the Creative Destruction of the Cigarette.”

Below is the description of the episode:

There’s general agreement about the health dangers of cigarettes. That doesn’t mean that the same strategies used to fight cigarette smoking make sense for other forms of tobacco use — including e-cigarettes. Policymakers ought to consider the facts as they address the latest scare over vaping-related illnesses. Jacob Grier explores the impact of anti-smoking campaigns and e-cigarette use in [his] book.

In the podcast, Grier explains:

“I use the word ‘creative destruction’ for a reason because this is discussing how innovations come through and just destroy all the products that came before them.”
