State senators are considering new rules for disposal of spent solar panels and other solar equipment in North Carolina. During an hourlong hearing on Senate Bill 568, they heard support for the idea from Donald van der Vaart, John Locke Foundation senior fellow.

The Senate Agriculture, Environment, and Natural Resources Committee took no vote today. The group is scheduled to convene again Thursday.
