The National Center for Education Statistics released The Condition of Education 2019 this week.  It’s packed with juicy data.

I thought that one data point was worth highlighting: the percentage of state revenues dedicated to K-12 schools in 2016.  Only a handful of other states contribute a larger share of state funds to their public schools than North Carolina.  The national average was 47 percent.  North Carolina was at 62 percent.

States that spend more than North Carolina tend to have local governments that pick up a larger share of the tab.
