The Roanoke Rapids Theatre, established more than a decade ago by the city as a venue featuring Dolly Parton’s brother Randy, soon will reopen and has announced a slate of acts, most with North Carolina connections, for the fall.

A press release from the theater’s new owners says the grand opening date will be a Veterans Day weekend celebration November 10 featuring Wilmington native Charlie Daniels and his band. Before then, country music singer and former East Carolina student Kasey Tyndall will perform Sept. 28 and beach music legends The Embers will play Oct. 10. The theatre also plans a Halloween night murder mystery dinner, a car show, and other events.

The theater is slated to operate daily with a restaurant, sports bar, and night club open when live performances aren’t booked.
