Update: The N&R reports a mere 12 minutes ago it has reached an agreement to sell the property. Strange it doesn’t mention the buyer.

That’s the headline in the Rhino Times report. Not really a surprise–the N&R’s downtown Greensboro property has been viewed as prime for development for some time now. and it’s just another newspaper getting out from under more space than they need—the News & Observer–while remaining in downtown Raleigh–just got out from under its three-acre space on Martin Street, where it had been for only 111 years.

Nor is it really a surprise that the N&R property is reportedly under contract to a partner in the downtown parking deck/Westin Hotel development right across Davie Street.
