Will it be Raleigh? Will it be Boston? Will it be Los Angeles? The country is on ‘Bezos Watch’ following the announcement of the top 20 cities for Amazon’s HQ2 headquarters. I’d love for North Carolina to snag the jobs, but as we know, there will be costs associated with “winning” Amazon HQ2 a lot of folks don’t want to acknowledge. As speculation ramps up, Fortune looks at some amusing — perhaps informative — data about Mr. Bezos.
In the last two years, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos’ private jet has made repeated trips to one particular destination. That destination — the only one that has been visited more frequently even than Amazon’s home base in Seattle — is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Va., reports the Puget Sound Business Journal.
Three of the finalists for HQ2 are a stone’s throw from Reagan: Washington, D.C., northern Virginia, and Montgomery County, Maryland.
Interesting. But there’s a problem. Bezos owns the Washington Post and has a home in the area. So is he traveling for business unrelated to HQ2? Hmm. It’s fun to wonder.
