In today’s news, Axios reports that new federal rules could be released today regarding the sale of short-term health plans, or insurance policies that offer limited benefits and don’t have to abide by Obamacare’s expensive insurance regulations. The pending announcement is a response to President Trump’s executive order issued in October 2016, in which he called for federal agencies to let people hold onto these plans for up to a year.

Short-term plans used to come with year-long contracts, but the Obama Administration limited their coverage to last for just three months in an attempt to steer healthier people towards Obamacare’s floundering Exchanges.

Stay tuned for further developments.
