I love this piece in today’s Triangle Business Journal about international life sciences companies coming to the Triangle.  Companies from all over the world are choosing to locate their US headquarters in North Carolina and, as the article makes clear, they’re doing it for a whole host of reasons.

What’s NOT driving the phenomenon, though, is incentives.  Sure, some companies have gotten them, but most of the companies highlighted in the article have come to the Triangle without receiving any incentive payments or special tax breaks at all.

They come because the Triangle has lots of talent, world class universities, low costs of living and doing business, and good infrastructure.  That’s a winning combination, and one that is attractive to all sorts of businesses.
