A lot of folks like the idea of imposing ‘price gouging’ laws in the wake of natural disasters. But do price-gouging laws really ‘protect’ people? Or, do they hurt the very people they’re supposed to help? Dr. Roy Cordato, John Locke Foundation senior economist and resident scholar, explains why price-gouging laws are counterproductive.
