Jonathan Kappler returns to the N.C. FreeEnterprise Foundation on Oct. 4 as the new executive director. NCFEF released the following information:

The Board of Directors of the NC FreeEnterprise Foundation (NCFEF) is pleased to announce that Jonathan Kappler will start as the new Executive Director of the organization effective October 4, 2017.

Kappler was the Research Director at NCFEF from 2009 – 2013, leaving that position to work in the Office of the President within UNC General Administration. He is currently serving as interim Vice President of Federal Relations and Director of State Government Relations.

NCFEF Board Chair George Teague said, “Jonathan comes to this role not only with expert knowledge of North Carolina politics, but also with first-hand experience delivering on NCFEF’s mission to provide business leaders with objective analysis on candidates, campaigns, voter attitudes and demographics within the political landscape. The entire Board is delighted to have him back at NCFEF as Executive Director, and we know he will do an outstanding job leading the organization.”

“I am thrilled to return to NCFEF and Iook forward to spearheading the organization’s efforts heading into the 2018 election cycle,” said Kappler. “I am dedicated to upholding NCFEF’s proud reputation as the business community’s go-to source for insights about state and federal campaigns in North Carolina. In this dynamic political environment, company leaders need — perhaps more than ever — an organization whose only agenda is providing sound, authentic analysis business people need to make decisions.”

Kappler is a native of Raleigh, NC. He holds a master’s degree from American University and bachelor’s degrees from Appalachian State University.
