Mitch Kokai suggests the path forward to continue a thriving North Carolina in this Winston-Salem Journal story about the Triad’s unemployment rate and the North Carolina economy.

Mitch Kokai, policy analyst with Libertarian think tank John Locke Foundation, said that “to the extent that state policy plays a role, the question is whether N.C. continues down a path of limiting state government spending growth, lowering taxes and lightening state regulatory burdens.”

Seven of the 14 Triad and Northwest North Carolina counties had a slight rate decrease, while six were unchanged and only Wilkes (4.1 percent to 4.2 percent) had an increase.
