High Point Enterprise reports the “unusually wet spring” has delayed construction on the “revitalization” of the downtown Neal F. Austin Public Library.

The $1.805 million project will add trees, two farmer’s market stalls, lighting and other aesthetic features in the parking lot with the goal of facilitating a community gathering location in the center of the city.

….At some point, construction will probably necessitate a temporary closure of the main vehicular access to the library parking lot off N. Main Street. During the closure, traffic will have at least two points of access to the parking lot off N. Elm Street.

By all means inconvenience the people the people who are going to the library to—imagine this—check out a book.
