Speaking for myself, if there was one of Gov. Roy Cooper’s Cabinet nominees who should not have been confirmed, it was his nominee to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. Not because Dr. Mandy Cohen doesn’t have the proper credentials–which she does– but because—as CJ’s Dan Way puts it– of her “past links to a checkered VA Administration, the disastrous Obamacare website rollout, and a potential conflict of interest with a husband who is a health-care lawyer.”

For all the hand-wringing and worrying on the part of the mainstream media in addition to the lawsuit filed by filed by Cooper over the Senate’s right to confirm his Cabinet picks— I think the Senate would be perfectly justified in rejecting Dr. Cohen.

But guess what–Dr. Cohen was unanimously approved following yesterday’s hearing. Don’t expect applause from those on the left.
