The N.C. Supreme Court has ruled, 5-2, in favor of Asheville in its dispute with the General Assembly over 2013 legislation that forcibly transferred the city’s public water system to a new metropolitan water and sewer district.
The decision reverses the state Appeals Court and reinstates the original trial-court ruling favoring Asheville.
