We all know what I think about business incentives. So I see this article this morning, Three deals could bring 130+ jobs to Triad city, and of course I’m thinking there has to be an incentive package attached.
I was right.
I was especially excited about the last sentence in the piece.
The council also closed out the process of a $120,000 block grant for the North American Implements building, which has added 6 jobs as a result, the Dispatch said.
Really?! We need six figure incentive grants for six jobs? Have we actually gotten to the point where we think that any job creation at all has to be subsidized by the local government? Utterly ridiculous.
