Per the Charlotte Observer:

Chick-fil-A has launched a new mobile app that lets customers customize their orders, pay ahead of time and skip the line at the register.

Was this new app designed to counter the impact of higher minimum wage laws? Probably not. Does the new app though allow Chick-fil-A to have fewer employees to serve just as many customers? Yes. Is that beneficial in a higher minimum wage environment? Absolutely. Would a higher minimum wage encourage Chick-fil-A and other fast food places to develop other innovations that substitute machines for labor? Absolutely.
