The Henderson County Tourism Development Authority (TDA) collects taxes from people staying in hotels. It’s called taxation without representation. What does it do with the money? Well, it doesn’t quite know. That is, it needs to set up a grant application process to decide what projects are worthy. What is known is projects must involve up to $5000 of subsidizable advertising that will draw tourists from over forty miles away. To be eligible, applicants must attend a grant workshop, and since I don’t approve of this nonsense I’ll make you click the hyperlink to find out when and where it is.
