“Perception is reality,” they say. But now, what is not perceived is supposed to be reality, as in gender. To me, gender is a physical reality, but I trust I am in the minority. The recent Charlotte bathroom law, and Asheville’s embrace thereof, has me self-identifying as a ham sandwich and wanting to take care of my business in your local grocer’s deli cooler, with all the other ham sandwiches.
