Neighbors in Need, an organization that puts homeless people up in Jackson County motels, is running short on funds. No mention is made of the deals the organization strikes with moteliers, but it is believed keeping a home might be more appropriate. Unfortunately, two attempts to run a home for the homeless have failed. One fell shy of zoning regulations, and another lost out to community space in a bid for county-owned property. Jackson County and the Town of Sylva do, however, give Neighbors in Need money to continue housing the homeless as they do now.
