Gov. Pat McCrory has ordered the U.S. and N.C. flags on state buildings to be lowered to half-staff in memory of the shooting victims in San Bernardino, Calif., on Wednesday.

The governor said:

“Ann and I join with others across our state and nation in mourning the loss of life in San Bernardino. This senseless act of violence and evil reminds each of us how fragile life can be and we remain thankful for first responders who pursue others that seek to do harm. I urge all North Carolinians to join Ann and me in keeping the victims, the survivors and their families in our thoughts and prayers.”

Flags will be at half-staff until sunset on Monday, Dec. 7.
