Last week, Time published an article by a Princeton student entitled “38 Ways College Students Enjoy ‘Left-Wing Privilege’ on Campus.” It listed items like, “I can take classes and earn degrees in departments that are designed to line up exactly with my worldview” and “I will likely never have to make the choice between writing what I believe to be true and writing what I think will get a good grade.”

Screen Shot 2015-07-10 at 9.43.48 AMHere’s another: “I have a building on campus dedicated to my beliefs.” That’s the case at UNC-Chapel Hill, at least. The “Campus Y,” once a real YMCA, is now the center for left-wing politics on campus. The Y’s email header (pictured right) calls the Y “UNC’s Center for Social Justice.”

The website brags that:

The organization has journeyed far from its origins as a young men’s Christian fellowship group, to become a pluralistic, diverse institution that champions civil and human rights not just in North Carolina but across the world.

But there’s little evidence of real pluralism. From marching with the Moral Monday movement to supporting “gender non-specific” housing on campus to characterizing free speech as violence, the Campus Y supports only the causes and concerns of students on the left.
