…in higher education reform, according to Isaac M. Morehouse. Morehouse, CEO and founder of Praxis, will be the Pope Center’s speaker at our 2015 Milton Friedman Legacy Day event, I am excited to report. Morehouse, whose modus operandi is to offer a market reform for young people who want to get ahead, is a fitting choice for an event celebrating Friedman’s life and legacy, on what would have been the economist’s 103rd birthday.

Those of us who are frustrated by the direction of conventional higher education should pay close attention to Praxis. The website describes it as an “intensive 10-month program for entrepreneurial young people who want real-world career experience and the best of online education all in one.” To Morehouse, the solution to the problems in higher ed is to find nonpolitical ways to get ahead.

Having heard Morehouse speak before, I can say it’s a solution worth hearing. Please join us on July 31 in Pinehurst for what will surely be a riveting speech (not to mention lunch and birthday cake). You can register here. Don’t forget to RSVP on Facebook as well to keep updated.
