This week in Washington, the Senate will continue to debate the Iran bill (S. 615). Majority Leader Mitch McConnell indicated the Iran bill will be considered under an open amendment process, which opens up the possibility of contentious changes being proposed. On Thursday the Senate is scheduled to attempt a veto override of the President’s veto of S.J. Res. 8, which disapproved a National Labor Relations Board rule that relates to labor-organizing practices.

Today, the House Armed Services Committee is scheduled for a full committee markup of the FY 2016 defense authorization bill. The House Appropriations Committee will continue to discuss the FY 2016 budget.

The House and the Senate will meet in a joint session this week to hear an address by the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe.
