For a long time, I have been arguing that, due to federal meddling, we have greatly oversold higher education. (Similar to the way we oversold home ownership as the key to “the American dream.”) In this post on his financial blog, New York writer Gregory Bresiger comes to the same conclusion, and cites a recent book that contends that many of the young people lured into college to pursue BA degrees would be much better off learning a skill or trade.
