N&R endorsements. No real surprises — Kay Hagan for Senate, Laura Fjeld for 6th Congressional District, Alma Adams for 12th Congressional District, ‘Yes’ on Guilford County quarter-cent sales tax hike.

No surprise either that the local paper of record would endorse Sen. Phil Berger’s opponent in the District 26 race. But check it out anyway (emphasis mine):

Democratic challenger William Osborne is a decided underdog to incumbent Phil Berger, who is probably the most powerful politician in the state. But Osborne is a better choice all the same, given the tight fist and closed mind with which Berger has run the legislature.

Ouch. If that’s enough to make you vote against Berger, who helped institute real reform here in North Carolina, then go for it.
