crosbyWhen your think tank’s president runs for Congress and wins the Republican primary in a heavily Republican district, you’re going to need a new president.

That’s what happened to the Alabama Policy Institute when its president of the past 25 year, Gary Palmer, became the Republican nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in Alabama’s 6th Congressional district, resulting in his resignation and his position having to be filled.

Caleb Crosby has been selected as the new President of the Alabama Policy Institute (API), a Birmingham-based conservative think tank that has been led by Gary Palmer for the last quarter-century.

Palmer is currently the Republican nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in Alabama’s 6th Congressional district. Although he is facing a Democratic opponent in November’s general election, he should have very little trouble winning in one of the most solidly-Republican districts in the country.

Crosby served as API’s Vice President and CFO for three and a half years before being tapped for the new job.
