The Washington Post has highlighted a report from a higher education non-profit focused on the price of college.  The overall conclusion from the report is that the price of college is rising faster for public schools than private one, more notably in the western states.

While Arizona saw public four-year tuition increase 70% over the last five years – North Carolina isn’t far behind.

According to the report:

  •  North Carolina’s public and private four-year college tuition increased 40% over the last five years.
  •  In the South, the last ten years have seen an increase of 65% for public and private four-year schools as well as public two-year schools.
