Screen Shot 2013-06-06 at 2.43.11 PMThis reminds me of Durham in the mid-’80s when city fathers were trying desperately to hide the Beirut-looking vacant store fronts downtown.

They commissioned “artists” to do things like put huge, papier-maché angel fish in the old Durham Sporting Goods store so that it would look like an aquarium on LSD. Thankfully, Durham’s downtown is now thriving, but back then it looked like a war zone.
