Grady Jefferys played a role in the growth of television news in Raleigh and in dozens of important political campaigns in the second half of the 20th century. Jefferys recounts roughly 300 pages worth of stories and anecdotes from that work in the new book I Never Promised Not to Tell.

He discussed key themes from the book during a presentation today to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. In the video clip below, Jefferys decries the growing importance of negative campaigning in North Carolina political contests.
