At this point, with so much safe and legal consumption of raw milk around the world, I wonder how anyone can oppose its legalization in North Carolina. Hear my testimony before the House Select Committee on Agricultural Regulations (four minutes, mp3):

As it stands, North Carolina has perhaps the most draconian approach of all the states. Residents are not even allowed to share ownership of a cow, let alone buy it in retail stores. Of course, that does not stop the black market from booming—a form of civil disobedience—and anecdotes suggest that it is.
