The false “wage stagnation” claim

Statists who like excuses for increased government meddling in our lives will resort to almost anything. One of the most popular factoids these days is the claim that wages have been stagnant since 1980 (or some such year), with the implication that more government activism is called for to deal with that alleged problem.

In this video, Professor Don Boudreaux destroys the wage stagnation claim and also argues that the route to optimal increases in wages is laissez-faire capitalism.
