Thirty Occupy protesters showed up at city hall to pressure their fellow liberal council members not to prohibit them from camping on city property. They also generally whined and complained about the city’s new protest control ordinances gagging their free speech rights.

They also emphasized their nonviolent nature and willingness to follow rules while whining to city council about the proposed ordinances. That was before police had to drag two of them off for refusing to shut up and adhere to the three minute speech limit everyone else is held to when addressing council. In my decade covering it, I’ve never seen police have to drag anyone off for violating the council time limit, which says everything you need to know.

This is what you get when you trust these people, as New York officials did for a while. I hope Charlotte’s liberals won’t fall for it.
