People Advocating Real Conservancy want people opposed to digital billboards to attend the next meeting of Asheville’s Planning and Zoning Commission. The meeting will be held at 5 p.m., Wednessday, Jan. 4, in the first floor conference room of city hall. The billboards are considered:

  • an unsafe distraction to drivers.
  • non-conforming with the main drag’s gateway status for the renowned historic Norwood Park neighborhood.
  • out of scale with the high-density commercial corridor.
  • out of character with the churches and schools along the stretch of road.
