So few Polish targets of the Holocaust survived to tell their stories that memoirs from those survivors are rare. That’s one of the reasons Meredith College historian Carolyn Happer says she was inspired to work with Polish survivor Morris Glass on the new book Chosen For Destruction.

Happer described key themes from the book during a presentation today to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. In the video clip below, Happer quotes Glass’ recollection of his escape from the train that had been scheduled to take him to his execution near the end of World War II.
