Antonio Hernandez Carranza, a legal Mexican national, was imprisoned for having tortillas and cheese in his truck that gave a false positive test result for cocaine. Hernandez was also charged with being intoxicated when he wasn’t. He did, however, fail to pull over when the cops turned on their lights and began chasing him.

The Buncombe County sheriff’s deputies had to throw down stop sticks, so Hernandez’ tires are ruined. They also impounded his truck full of food and his dog, and assessed a $300,000 bond. Now that things have been sorted out, the sheriff’s department is offering to compensate Hernandez with a $400 check.
