Perhaps you feel the federal government isn’t protecting your rights, so they should find something to do with all that money you’re giving them. Perhaps they ought to leverage corporate gifting. After all, it is very PC for corporations to make consumers pay for contributions to charities they may or may not like. Corporations can even make the deductions tax-exempt. The GlaxoSmithKline Foundation just awarded $2.5 million in grants for education, science, and health programs. One award “leveraged a $6 million federal investment.” The awards aren’t exactly “waste, fraud, or abuse;” but it is appealing to think of reverting to a market where everything wasn’t so bundled.
