At a meeting of the NC House education committee this morning, representatives voted to confirm Janet K. Lowder, a community college trustee from Stanly County, as a member of the State Board of Community Colleges. Oddly enough, she was the only candidate nominated (perhaps because no one else wanted to do it–I’ve been to a few board meetings, and they’re sometimes about as exciting as paste).
She was nominated by Justin Burr, an apparently reliable Republican from Albemarle.
