By now even Obama seems to know he should’ve been more presidential about the whole thing and shouldn’t have prejudged the white cop by the color of his skin and assumed racism. He started backtracking yesterday, and now reportedly the police are considering releases all the tapes of the incident (which could very well result in embarrassing Obama’s friend Prof. Gates, who was having a really bad day).
Backtracking isn’t enough; now Obama’s blaming the press. The AP reports: “The White House says the media’s ‘obsessions’ are keeping alive President Barack Obama’s comments about the arrest of a Harvard scholar seen trying to get into his own house.”
