They’re suing Macleans’s magazine for running an excerpt of Mark Steyn’s America Alone (buy it here, it’s great), calling it “flagrantly Islamophobic.” This is an old ploy, used often by Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and other dealers from the deck of race cards. Classify criticism as racism and hate speech and you eliminate dissenting voices. Clever.

The Canadian Islamic Congress, which brought the complaint, says “the article subjects Canadian Muslims to hatred and contempt.” Of course, the lack of outrage at religiously inspired beheadings and floggings of rape victims and school teachers wouldn’t do that on their own, I guess.
