The Stompers are making the news. Two of the group’s charter members, Don Yelton and Chad Nesbitt, both Democrats-turned-Republicans, have been actively investigating government, blowing the whistle, and slinging mud in Buncombe County for some time. Yelton and Nesbitt have made fun of just about everybody in town in various attempts to promote conservative, Christian values. As we join our Dynamic Duo this week, we see they have formed a corporation that has come under question by the Democrat Party for not registering as a political organization. The group airs TV commercials that stomp on local Democrats. Recent initiatives have included a protest of the Democrat’s Vance-Aycock dinner at the Grove Park Inn because Governor Charles Brantley Aycock was a white supremacist. The group also filmed Democrat city council candidate Elaine Lite dancing around a magnolia tree in a Wiccan ceremony.
