Doesn’t explicitly mention light rail, just transportation. And talks a lot about fiscal responsibility. So let’s cut to the chase on that one.
Assuming the half-cent for CATS survives in November, will you pledge to oppose any and all future efforts to give CATS additional local sources of revenue, be they dedicated taxes or transfers from the city, county, or a town General Fund?
In sum, I’m asking you to stand behind the plan the MTC adopted less than a year ago as fiscally sound and affordable. If you have doubts, it is your responsibility as a leader to share them with the community at large.
