If there were an award for the most overrated philosopher of modern times, the award could easily go to John Rawls, whose book “A Theory of Justice” performs in the realm of philosophy the same role that Keynes’ book “The General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money” performs in the realm of economics, namely to provide intellectual cover for limitless coercive governmental tampering with a free society.

Writing in today’s Wall Street Journal, professor David L. Schaefer takes on Rawls and those current politicians who are trying to make political hay by appealing to envy. An excellent article.
