A Rams Club booster lays the UNC’s football woes squarely at the feet of athletic director Dick Baddour:
“He’s picked two losers already,” said Maurice Koury a generous Rams Club booster from Burlington, referring to Bunting and his predecessor Carl Torbush.
Here’s the really bad news:
Bunting, 25-42 overall and 16-28 in the ACC, is owed his base salary of $286,200 through January 2010, but that would be reduced if he takes a job elsewhere, with UNC paying the difference in salaries.
Lesson: If you’re going to pick losers, don’t sign them to long-term contracts.
