The Washington Times has an interview today with President Bush?s political strategist, Karl Rove. His rhetorical swagger goes well with the president?s leggy one, but perhaps not with the need for Republicans not to get overconfident and bungle an election cycle that currently seems to be edging their way.

My favorite bit is a simile regarding the campaign?s 2000 failure to turn out a strong vote as expected in parts of Ohio. Bush won the state, but the margin was close. Now, says Rove, the campaign is geared up and ready in the Buckeye State:

[Rove] insisted that the campaign there is now “strong as an acre of garlic.”

As some of you know, my nearly-religious mantra about life is that ?Garlic is God, and Onion in his Prophet.?
