Yes, ladies and gentlemen, parents around the D.C. area are so starved for an alternative to traditional public schools that they are illegally sending their kids to non-traditional public charter schools.

Whose to blame? D.C.?School board President Peggy Cooper Cafritz blamed D.C. Mayer Anthony Williams’ administration for making the city’s charter schools attractive to students from the suburbs.

Attractive? Good? Why is that a bad thing? Oh, yeah, I forgot, we are talking about education.

School board member Tommy Wells said the city should penalize schools that fail to report illegally enrolled students. ?”We need to punish principals and teachers for ignoring the law,” Mr. Wells said. Mr. Wells did not elaborate on what the punishment would be, but let’s hope it is not akin to Hillary Clinton’s proposals to jail doctors for seeing patients out of their “districts” in her failed health care plan in the early 90’s.
